941, Schedule B and 941-X - quarterly payroll reporting with error-free math and an instant download.
The quarterly return most employers live by: report wages paid, federal income tax withheld, and both shares of Social Security and Medicare.
If you deposit payroll taxes on a semiweekly schedule, Schedule B details your tax liability day by day and files with your 941.
Found an error on a 941 you already filed? The 941-X corrects wages, tax amounts or credits for that quarter - no need to refile everything.
Form 941 is the quarterly return itself. If you withhold income tax, Social Security or Medicare from paychecks, this is the form you file four times a year.
Schedule B only applies if you deposit payroll taxes on a semiweekly schedule - it details your liability day by day and rides along with the 941.
Form 941-X is the fix-it form. Filed a quarter with the wrong numbers? The X adjusts it without touching the rest of your year.
Totals, boxes and carried amounts calculate themselves - the most common IRS rejection reasons just don't happen.

Most employers who withhold income tax, Social Security or Medicare from wages file a 941 every quarter. Very small employers may qualify for the annual Form 944 instead.
The last day of the month after each quarter ends - so April 30, July 31, October 31 and January 31 for the four quarters.
Semiweekly depositors use Schedule B to report their tax liability for each day of the quarter. It files together with the 941.
Create a 941-X. It adjusts the figures on a previously filed 941 and works as a claim for refund where you overpaid.
